The AP4600 Programs AEI tags via a radio frequency (RF) signal. Tag programmer functions include programming permissible tag data pages and interrogating permissible data pages.
A separate License Certificate (part number 25-1000-001), which TransCore provides electronically, is required to configure the AP4600 Multifunction Tag Programmer to a customer's specific tag programming needs.
Transferring programmed data to the tag requires a few simple steps. The user places a tag in the center of the top of the programmer, downloads or manually enters the tag data into the host system, then issues a command to the AP4600 Multifunction Tag Programmer to write the data to the tag. The AP4600 tag programmer automatically verifies data programmed into the tag. The user can also read data previously written to the tag. With the tag located on the programmer surface, the operator issues a tag read command to the programmer via the host computer. The AP4600 Multifunction Tag Programmer then reads the tag and transfers the tag’s data back to the host computer. The accompanying AP4600 host software supports batch tag programming, which speeds up multiple tag programming sessions; and supports label printing using a Brother QL-500 series Label Printer (printer must be supplied by the user).
