The 2090-100 Temperature Probe is encased in a radiation shield that shields it from direct sunlight and allows ambient air to flow through and around it. The probe mounts to the outside wall of the wayside enclosure and provides accurate temperature indications over a range of -45°C to +65°C (-49°F to +149°F). Most system reports include the site ambient temperature as measured as the train passes.
